Back in the day when your homepage was more like a newsfeed kind of a thing like Twitter and Facebook? I don’t know how else to describe it. Fiction, essay, literature, editor picks, they were all listed. Then when they started the Membership thing in March that all disappeared and it became more geared toward what I believe Medium thinks the outside internet wants to read and less about what paid members and writers on their platform want to read.

All of the changes seem to be going into a vision the platform Medium itself has and not a vision inspired by all. We are the ones, the writers, who have made this platform successful. When I was publishing Medium Member Exclusive stories I made a significant chunk of cash. Then they rolled out the Partner Program for all writers. This I feel is a great idea, even if it means my payout is less, but what I think is a super sucky idea is that premium publications are now always featured on the homepage which is most likely why the topics you stated are their topic of choice. Their goal I would imagine is to increase memberships by promoting these publishers. When was the last time you saw literature, poetry or fiction in CNN, NYT or Forbes and all the others?
