I always appreciate your follow up email because some weeks I drown in emails and do genuinely overlook yours (along with other emails) and I don’t want to miss your newsletter because the information is too valuable to me, even to just miss a week.
In all honesty, I wish I had the time to subscribe and read all of the newsletters from all of the writers I adore but at this point I have to narrow it down to the most value and therefore get your newsletter, Austin Kleon and Jessica Peterson. I love yours and Austin’s because it’s jammed packed with knowledge and really cool shit I didn’t have the time to find or research myself, and I love Jessica’s because it’s short and sweet. It’s sort of a hey, check it out, this is what I have going on. I love her work so I love receiving that in my inbox in case I missed anything.
I realize how valuable collecting emails are for a writer, I do but I don’t expect anything from anyone that I don’t expect of myself. If I’m unable to find the time to read everyone’s newsletters I have no expectation that they would read mine. I also feel spending the time creating a newsletter would take away from my time actually creating. So I haven’t hit that point yet, maybe someday, just not now. I am bookmarking this article should that someday come.
