I believe the definition of a minimalist lifestyle is living without things you don’t need and books are a necessary tool in life. I know nowadays you can read everything online, or a Kindle, or your cellphone but I just don’t want to. I want books. I need books.
My goal for 2018 was to not buy anymore books until I read every book I already own. I’ve epically failed at this goal but I don’t feel guilty about it. I’ve learned a lot reading those books and I’ve gone on adventures I would have never experienced on my own.
I feel in a the sense of a human’s hierarchy of needs it should really be water, food, shelter, books. I mean, sure we need socialization, I guess but I prefer reading. Books education and we life long learners know how valuable education is in order to survive. There is no minimizing our survival.
