I do. I’m a huge fan of sharing books. I send books that I enjoyed reading to my friends. One of my favorite quotes is by Irving Stone, “There are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books.” I snail mail books from my personal library to people who support my writing on my Patreon.
I think my biggest need to have so many books is that my husband is a decade older than I am and I have this fear I’ll end up alone in the Middle of Nowhere, Iowa in this giant 100 year old house (which feels creepy when I’m in it without him) with nothing left but my love for reading and then I will desperately need all these books to survive. I know. Counseling would probably help with my issue but I guess I’m just not ready to face it yet.
It also doesn’t help that our favorite date spot is The Haunted Bookshop in Iowa City. We go there way too frequently but hey, it gets us out of the middle of nowhere and into the city. I suppose an island may have been a better option for me also.
