I love this. We all have our flaws and our perks, weakness and strengths but there wouldn’t be positives without negatives and all these traits combined make us our whole self.
When my employees would complain about one another I would always tell them, you don’t have to like each other but you do have to work with one another. Everyone has their good qualities. Find one you like about the person and start there. Most of the time it calmed the drama, but more importantly it’s the truth.
I think you’re right about creating change, if you want to, but to work toward the goal all year round and not because we’re triggered to do so by a new year. These things take time, a lot of time and not something we can just wake up on January 1st and say, Done!
