I think a lot of it has to do with my way of thinking, or my logic. Depending on how you look at it.
For me, if I describe survival, especially as I get older, my kids are grown and I’m not in my forties I focus more on what survival really means. Grow your own food, forego electricity and indoor plumbing. Technically, a sound structure over your head and the rest is workable. Even internet to continue to make money. A free library card grants you access to that.
I’ve never been materialistic. I’ve always worked for what I have and the feeling of reward in that is so much more valuable to me than physical stuff. I’m also a firm believer in less is more and there is a significant difference between “want” and “need.”
I know. I’m a bit cooky, but it works for me.
