I’ve survived generations of opioid and heroin addiction. I lost two family members on Mother’s Day to overdoses. It’s a challenge at times to have compassion as I am not an addict but I remind my daughter who is, and is currently in recovery that heroin addiction is powerful AF. It controls, it takes over, it forges a path of destruction. She struggles every day and I tell her every day that no matter how powerful addiction may be, she’s stronger.
Your words touch a place in my heart that will forever feel loss and pain, but I also feel hope. I wish you the very best on your journey. I believe in you.
