Living out in the middle of nowhere in Iowa, our house is stockpiled with food. When harvest ends we cook all the crops and freeze them as meals ready to eat. Food grows like wild here. We go to Costco (once a year) in November and spend roughly $600- $800. We buy meat locally, as in we personally knew the cow that’s now cooking in the kitchen (I don’t eat meat.) Long story short, we spend most of the fall season preparing our food that lasts us all year.
Rice and beans are amazing! I could easily live off that as a meal in itself. Yummy.
