My husband calls it flash news. I never read it. It’s all the pop up news about celebrity breakups, political hate and other unbelievably believable stuff, if that makes sense. A for instance would be the recent “boiling pot challenge” during the polar vortex. Flash news showed a report of a man doing the challenge outside in -30 degrees in his boxers. He gave himself third degree burns, but of course he did. The article didn’t mention the thousands of videos of thousands of people doing it going viral around social media and not getting hurt. They only mention this guy who clearly is lacking in common sense if he was outside in -30 in only is underwear.

It feels like this type of news is taking over the internet and we have to search what little cracks and crevasses left on the earth where true journalism is hiding, and that seems to be in print.
