Outlet mall in rural community markets across the state, bringing the masses amid a pandemic. An outlet mall located off of I-80 in Iowa County is on a mission to spread COVID-19 throughout the rural farming community.
Since the Thanksgiving holiday, the mall has hosted events marketed throughout the state and on social media, bringing the masses from everywhere.
During Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales events, the commercialized mall hosted 30 local artisans and a human Santa Claus encased in a Plexiglas box. Festivities included games with a grand prize of a $500 shopping spree.
This week, the outlet mall launched their Virtual Winter Wonderland Getaway. Shoppers who travel to the European countries virtually are being asked to upload a selfie to the mall’s website and are eligible to win a vacation package to Paris, amid a pandemic.
Iowa’s 14-day positivity rate is currently 15.6%.
