Possibly Bad Ideas
October flew by. One day it was 70 degrees here in Small Town, Iowa and the next we had snow flurries.
It was also a busy month. I’ve attempted a new marketing strategy. I’ve been submitting stories to various publications on Medium in hopes of spreading my work out there and increasing patronage. So far no luck but it’s only been a few weeks.
This newsletter would normally be behind the $1 and up patron paywall on my Patreon. During the months of November and December I’ll be sharing everything openly and everywhere. My goal is to increase patronage by January 1, 2018. If not I’ll have to return to selling articles to media outlets for income. I’d like to give it one last ditch effort before I do. I would much prefer to write stories for my readers than articles in the media.
I’ve deleted my Facebook business page and decided to use my personal page for everything. I’ve been trying to build up a following to my business page for a year with little success. I spent hours going through everything on my personal page changing what I wanted to share with friends and the world. If you’re a patron please feel free to send me a friend request. If you’re not, please feel free to follow me. Here is the link.
I opened up my Etsy shop, ARTextraordinary at the beginning of October. It feels good to accomplish so much creative work.
I wrote this story yesterday about my love for art. If you haven’t read it yet I invite you to do so. I enjoyed researching and writing it.
I’m running a special this month on my Patreon. If you join at the $5 or up patronage I’ll send you a book from my personal library, a handmade bookmark and a gratitude postcard. If you’re already a patron please, PLEASE, PlEaSe share my work on your social media!
