Also, here is the secret to my descriptive powers. I learned it at University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop but this link goes to a PDF from a creative writing course at Wright University. They refer to fiction but it 100% applies to nonfiction as well. It’s an easy trick that makes a huge difference!
