There are few places and that’s a part of the challenge. Here in Iowa to say the mental health care system is lacking is an enormous understatement but you’re right, it’s at no fault of trying.

The culture here is to be private and basically stuff every emotion you have by either drinking Busch Light out of a can on purpose or quilting. I’m not being a sarcastic ass, either. I’m being serious. People out here just don’t talk about things so why would you need to provide services that don’t appear to be necessary?

Thanks for the volunteer work you do. I know some days may be tough but in the long term those women need you.
