There is so much click bait out there in the digital world and I believe what stands out in the information overload is writing about things we care about more so than what we think people want to read.
I’ve been on Medium for a bit over a year and I’m often asked how I grew the size of my following. The thing is, all I did was write and people read.
Writers with niches aren’t writing for themselves. They’re writing for gain and it shows in their work. Writing is an art. It’s not time management and/ or productivity.
Something I’ve read a lot on Medium is “the secret to success is writing every day” but I don’t agree with that. I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity. These are my thoughts on the subject.
“Write Every Day,” They Say
The internet is cluttered with content writers. There’s an endless stream of how to articles on this and listicles on…
Best wishes to you. I “followed” you so I can watch you on your Medium journey. I think you’re going to do just fine.
Oh, and you’re right. Claps have little to no financial gain but the more people who read your work the more rewarding it feels to know you’re resonating and connecting with others. Stories create a positive space in the world.
