This is the best description, analogy or not, of a very dangerous type of relationship yet the human behind tends to believe if we’ve already invested in something we should continue to invest. There are a number of fears associated with it. There are a number of emotions associated with it, but I can almost guarantee love, in it’s truest form, is not one of them.

The car is a lemon. You keep paying money to fix the next thing that’s broken, thinking “if I fix this one thing, it’ll start running right and will be good again.” And it does run again, until a month later when the next thing breaks down, and you have to dole out more money. It never ends, you have to keep fixing the broken pieces, until eventually you realize it’s just a bad car that’s making you go broke.
