Tucked away inside the height of the city buildings is sanctuary from all that exists in the daily life of millions of people. The vibrant green of the trees protect me from my thoughts. The beauty of the planets ground me beneath my feet. I see something across the water. I can’t make it out, but I let it be. Perhaps it’s evidence others have come before me.

I look at the reflection of Mother Nature in the water and I think of love. The purest form of love. The love of a mother and child. The love of an elderly couple on their 60th wedding anniversary kissing and holding hands. The love you feel at first sight when you see your future stand before you.

I don’t want to leave but I know it’s time to cross the bridge back to the other side. There’s a part of me that knows everything will remain the same but there is also a part of me that knows it won’t be.
